Nautitech Catamarans has filed for receivership with the Commercial Court of La Rochelle, France.
The Rochefort-based shipyard says the move is intended to ensure business continuity while it reorganises and while a new investor or owner is sought.
The legal framework means the shipyard can continue its operations – production, deliveries and after-sales service.
Nautitech Catamarans is currently owned by Bavaria which seems to be switching its business strategies away from the crowded catamaran market.
In 2023 the company built 58 catamarans, which dropped to 30 units in 2024.
In 2025, the number of catamarans built reached 24 boats, with the company planning for 18 boats in 2026, 13 of which had been sold by the end of July 2026. The company says its order book stretches into 2027 for some models.
Industrial and commercial priorities
For the 2025 financial year, the company had a revenue of €5.71 million compared to revenue of €22.53 million in 2024.
EBITDA for 2025 was -€12.33 million compared to €1.64 million in 2024.
The judicial filing follows the launch of the new Nautitech 41 Type S, which completes and renews the shipyard’s range after the 44 Open and the 48 Open, and of which four were delivered before the summer shutdown.
The new model is set to undergo a promotional tour this autumn, however the shipyard has previously announced it is withdrawing from from the main boat shows stating that it wants to focus on its industrial and commercial priorities.
The company was first established in 1990, with the Nautitech catamaran line created in 1994 in partnership with Dufour Yachts Group. The shipyard was acquired by German boat builder Bavaria Yachts in 2014 and currently employs around 100 workers.
