Sea Ray is launching the latest models in the SDX Series with the debut of the SDX 270 and SDX 270 Surf.
The 27ft craft are available in sterndrive and surf configurations, and have been designed to offer large social zones, powerful propulsion, storage and premium amenities.
“The SDX 270 and SDX 270 Surf are the latest boats in our line-up to receive a keel-up redesign, and the first SDX models crafted with our next-generation design language,” said Keith Yunger, Sea Ray president. “Also, the SDX 270 Surf is the first surf addition to our SDX Series.”
Aboard the SDX 270, the layout has been optimised with seating and open spaces.
Above the cockpit, there is an electric-folding watersports tower, standard on the surf variation and optional on the sterndrive model, featuring elevated tow points.
The bow has lounge-style seating, a bow ladder and an additional integrated cooler compartment.
At the transom, there is a convertible sunpad with a backrest that folds down to extend the area.
The swim platform has a concealable ladder and manual submersible step, optional on the sterndrive variation and standard on the surf boat.
The transom also features a ski tow eye attachment to connect watersports riders and an in-floor compartment with drainage.
At the helm, there are a variety of control features and technologies including a Digital Dash, with a standard 9in Simrad NSX touchscreen display (dual 9in NSX displays are standard on the surf variation) and Mercury Marine SmartCraft Connect for engine monitoring.
The SDX 270 is powered by a standard 300hp Mercury MerCruiser 6.2L engine with a Bravo Three drive, SmartCraft technology and Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) controls.
The SDX 270 Surf is propelled by a standard 350hp MerCruiser 6.2L engine with a forward-facing Bravo Four S drive, contra-rotating props, SmartCraft technology and DTS.
The SDX 270 Surf is also fitted with an intuitive surf system that generates repeatable, rideable waves for wakesurfing and other watersports.
The vessel’s transom is tapered to produce a clean wave while electric surf tabs, Active Trim and three ballast tanks featuring 1,900lbs of ballast control the height of the wave.
The craft are also equipped with a Sea Ray custom surf interface powered by Mercury Smart Tow.
