Hempel has introduced a recharger for its silicone systems, said to be a world first.
The new recharger, introduced at METSTRADE, has been developed to make underwater boat maintenance an easier experience for boat owners.
Hempel’s Infinity is a water-based, biocide-free performance recharger that renews Hempel’s existing silicone paint for yachts and prolongs painting-free time for an extra season.
“Hempel’s Infinity is our most significant innovation in the yacht sector since the launch of Hempel’s Silic One back in 2012,” says Thomas Olsen, marketing director – yacht at Hempel “It has been designed with boat owners’ time and money in mind, enabling them to maintain performance excellence year after year, in a more sustainable way.
“I am excited to introduce this ground-breaking innovation and look forward to following its success and impact in the market.”
The new Infinity recharger builds on Hempel’s biocide-free silicone systems that were launched more than ten years ago and can be used as a recharger for Hempel’s Silic One and Hempasil Pro.
The patented technology in Hempel’s Infinity has been developed to recharge the hydrogel in Hempel’s silicone systems for the yacht market.
The product is applied on top of an existing Hempel silicone finish at the scheduled maintenance interval and will extend the silicone performance of the hull coating for an extra season, removing the need for repainting.
To apply, the underwater area needs to be clean and dry before Infinity is applied to the underwater surface.
The product requires no sanding, masking or painting.
After a minimum of 24 hours’ activation time, Hempel’s Infinity is then rinsed off with fresh water and the boat is ready for another sailing season.
Hempel’s Infinity will be available in 2.4 litre size and is suitable for both DIY and Pro usage in the EU, with North America to follow.
