Sea Sure has promoted Dan Henderson to the role of MD with overall responsibility of taking the business forward into the future.
Dan will take on the new role from January 1 2025.
Current MD Graham Brown will take on the role of chairman and will reduce his time spent in the business to carry out vital product testing on the water.
Dan joined Sea Sure in 2012, shortly after winning the Musto Skiff World championships and completing a degree in Sports Science at Portsmouth University.
Since joining in 2012 as a sales team member, Dan has worked his way up through the company being initially promoted to the role of sales manager then to his current role of sales director.
Dan’s primary focus over the last 12 years has been developing sales, both in the company’s home UK market and being the key contact with Sea Sure’s worldwide distribution network.
Since being appointed as a director of the business in 2022, Dan’s role has evolved further, providing input on where he saw the company’s future, and enabling the company to move towards that goal.
Dan has also been more heavily involved with the management of Sea Sure, its finances and personnel.
“I am really pleased to hand over the reins and pass on the role of managing director to Dan.
“His enthusiasm for the business and his knowledge of the marine and industrial sector made Dan the clear choice to take Sea Sure into the future,” said Graham.
“Dan has a far better understanding of the latest ways to present and market our products, and I am sure with him at the helm, Sea Sure is in great hands moving forwards.”
Engineering expertise
Graham will continue to be involved in the business, providing his wealth of knowledge and engineering expertise.
He will be also be on hand at trade shows and fairs over the coming years to help Dan and the team drive Sea Sure forwards.
“I am unbelievably grateful to Graham and the rest of the board for trusting me to take on the role of managing director,” said Dan.
“Whilst there is plenty for me to learn about running a company, knowing that Graham is still actively involved in the business and available to lean on for advise, gives me real confidence to take Sea Sure forwards into the future,”
He added: “We will continue to develop and manufacture the highest quality marine hardware whilst also exploring opportunities in other sectors where customers need reliable, well priced quality components.”
