MDL to invest £13.6 million in 2024/25 season

MDL Marinas is to spend £13.6 million in the 2024/25 season on enhancements to its facilities and services for its berth holders, tenants and visitors.

In addition to this season’s investment, the company is allocating a further £4.1 million by the end of March 2025, part of a £40 million investment plan over the next five years.

The investment has been directed towards a range of projects focused on improving infrastructure, sustainability and overall customer experience.

Key areas of expenditure include £7.5 million on improvements to roads, buildings and marina facilities, with projects at Ocean Village and Northney Marina, and expansion at Shamrock Quay.

In addition, £2.7 million has been put aside to ensure the safety and stability of marina infrastructure and £962,000 is allocated to dredging projects to maintain navigable waters.

Future projects include an extension to the marina office at Northney Marina, as well as the addition of a new 35-tonne hoist.

Installation of photovoltaic solar panels as part of a sustainability initiative and pier improvements at Torquay Marina and Cobb’s Quay Marina.

Pontoons will also be replaced at Ocean Village Marina and refurbishment of facilities and installation of a new pump-out facility at Penton Hook Marina.

There will also be works carried out at Hamble Point Marina.
