Giangrasso Group growth plan; new production unit

Giangrasso Group has acquired a new new production unit on the Tuscan coast at Viareggio as part of its plans to expand.

The acquisition is part of a growth phase for the Group which has an expanding order portfolio booking applications for new building slots for its aluminium boatbuilding.

The new production unit will expand the Group’s processing and delivery capacity, equipping the organisation with the infrastructure needed to sustain its growth.

The new facility will integrate into the Group’s existing production ecosystem, strengthening its footprint in the Tuscan nautical district.

Giangrasso Group chose the location for its expansion as it is where the Group was founded and where it points out its heritage of technical and craft expertise has accumulated over decades, forming an integral part of the Group’s identity.

Consolidation

The Group says that the filling of procedures for assignment of new building slots carries clear strategic intent, and consolidates its presence in the area.

Bartolomeo Giangrasso, CEO and owner, Giangrasso Group, explained that expanding the facilities is necessary, but not sufficient, with the company’s industrial plan is built on the understanding that the growth of a shipyard is, above all, a matter of people.

And he said the company relies on specialist engineers, skilled workers and individuals capable of passing on and receiving a craft that cannot be learned from books.

Investment

“In a sector where know-how is transmitted through direct experience, investing in people is the most enduring investment of all,” explained Bartolomeo.

“We are a company that builds with our hands and our minds. Every investment we make — in facilities, in territory, in people — is designed to last. Viareggio is not our past: it is the centre of gravity of our future.”

And Bartolomeo added that the planned workforce growth in the coming years is therefore not simply a response to capacity needs, but an expression of the will to build a more solid and resilient organisation — one capable of developing and retaining expertise.
