French leisure vehicle distributor Hunyvers has completed its acquisition of the shipyard group Les Chantiers Navals du Bassin d’Arcachon.
The two companies entered into exclusive negotiations in July 2024. Les Chantiers Navals du Bassin d’Arcachon group will be integrated into Hunyvers’ accounts as of September 1 2024.
The Les Chantiers Navals du Bassin d’Arcachon group has a total workforce of more than 30 people across three shipyards, Biscarosse Nautic, Ander Nautic and Arcachon Nautic based the Arcachon Bay near Bordeaux.
The acquisition strengthens Hunyvers’ presence in the Arcachon basin, where it now has seven concessions. The company says it will also offer strong compatibility in terms of the brands referenced.
The Les Chantiers Navals du Bassin d’Arcachon group generated a turnover of €10 million for the financial year ending August 2024.
Fifth acquisition
The group’s integration into Hunyvers will contribute to achieving a minimum of €150 million in consolidated turnover by August 312025.
The transaction marks Hunyvers’ fifth acquisition in the nautical sector, after Groupe Nautic (2020), Marine Plaisance and LBC Nautic (2023) and Pneumarine Services (2024).
Based on the integration of all the recent acquisitions over a full year, the turnover of the nautical division is expected to amount to more than 20% of Hunyvers’ total activity for the current financial year, compared to 13% over the 2023 / 2024 financial year.
Hunyvers was founded in 2006 specialising in motorhome travel and itinerant tourism. The organisation diversified into nautical sports in 2020.
The organisation owns 15 motorhome dealerships distributing more than 45 brands, and nine boat dealerships.
Biscarosse Nautic, Ander Nautic and Arcachon Nautic were bought together under the Les Chantiers Navals du Bassin d’Arcachon banner in 2017 to allow all the shipyards to communicate in a grouped and united manner while still preserving their individual heritage and local roots.
At the time the shipyards wanted to bring together the common values of each individual entity.
Ander Nautic, Arcachon Nautic and Biscarrosse Nautic have been Jeanneau dealers for more than 20 years.
They are also White Shark, Nuova Jolly, B2 Marine, Finval, Riverlake, Whaly, Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Volvo Penta dealers and Uship resellers.
