Sanlorenzo confirms The Italian Sea Group bid

Sanlorenzo-backed Polo Nautico Carrara has submitted a binding asset-deal offer for The Italian Sea Group’s La Spezia shipyard business unit.

Completion remains subject to the outcome of TISG’s competitive process and the conditions contained in the offer, meaning no sale has yet been agreed.

The bid is one of five binding offers received by TISG.

Polo Nautico Carrara is owned equally by Sanlorenzo and Polo Nautico Viareggio, which is itself a Sanlorenzo subsidiary. The structure gives Sanlorenzo control of the bidding vehicle.

The offer is narrower than the expression of interest announced on 27 July 2026. That earlier proposal involved a consortium seeking TISG’s wider business undertaking, excluding debts, receivables, security interests and other encumbrances.

Simpler ownership structure

Sanlorenzo said the information and documentation made available during the process, together with its timetable, led the partners to limit the binding proposal to the La Spezia operation and adopt a simpler ownership structure.

The bidder said the revised approach would support employment and the local supply chain at the production site.

The company has not specified which assets, contracts or employees would transfer if its proposal is selected. It has also not disclosed proposed funding, future production plans or a timetable for completion.

The bid forms part of TISG’s continuing restructuring and investor-selection process. Any continuation or completion of yachts under construction would depend on the final transaction terms and, where applicable, discussions with owners and other counterparties.

Safeguarding jobs

Sanlorenzo executive chairman Massimo Perotti said the earlier consortium initiative reflected a responsibility to ‘safeguard jobs, preserve strategic expertise and ensure the continuity of manufacturing activities’.

He added: “Our intention is to bring to the project the industrial strength, expertise and long-term vision of Polo Nautico Carrara’s shareholders, in order to enhance the local industrial ecosystem and promote the excellence of Italian craftsmanship worldwide.”

Sanlorenzo says it will update the market on material developments in accordance with applicable regulations. The final decision rests with the competitive process and relevant conditions applying to TISG’s restructuring.
