Barcelona show draws 20,000 visitors

The Barcelona International Boat Show attracted nearly 20,000 visitors over five days at Port Vell, as organisers reported strong commercial activity and confirmed the event will return from 13 to 17 October 2027.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona with the Spanish National Association of Nautical Companies, the 2026 show brought together 170 exhibitors representing more than 300 brands and displayed 226 boats of different sizes.

Thirty-five per cent of visitors came from outside Catalonia, while international attendees accounted for 15% of the total. France, Italy, Germany, the US and the UK were the principal overseas markets. The event also attracted buyers from Madrid, the Balearic Islands, Valencia, Andalusia and Galicia.

Exhibitors reported a high level of sales activity and business contacts, with the revised format intended to attract visitors actively considering boats, equipment and accessories.

Reach and quality

“This edition confirms our commitment to strengthening business opportunities, the event’s international reach and its quality,” said show president Luis Conde.

“The calibre of the brands, models and innovations on display, together with the profile of our visitors, places the Barcelona event among Europe’s leading boat shows and consolidates its position as a strategic platform for the industry.”

The 2026 edition marked the return of Oyster, Amel and YYachts after several years away. Other exhibitors included Groupe Beneteau, Fountaine Pajot, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Excess, Mercury, Fjord, Bluegame, Sea Ray and X-Yachts. Twenty Spanish boatbuilders also took part.

The show included one world premiere and ten models nominated for European Yacht of the Year. Its SeaMotion programme added an Indoor Pavilion covering marinas, diving, watersports and boating lifestyle activities.

The Innovation Dock presented electric boats and marine devices, while visitors could take part in sea trials and other on-water activities. Professional sessions organised with the Port of Barcelona and Barcelona Clúster Nàutic were held at Marina Port Vell. The programme broadened the event beyond boat displays and added further opportunities for suppliers, operators and visitors to meet.
