MJM Yachts has launched its new V Series with the MJM 38V, a design intended to offer a more contemporary and social alternative to the builder’s X Series day yachts and R Series cruisers while retaining its heritage design cues.
The 38V uses the same lightweight performance hull as MJM’s 38X and 38R and is built using the company’s C5 advanced composite construction.
The yacht’s revised topsides include a flush-mounted helm, space for two Garmin GPSMAP 1543 xsv ultrawide chartplotters, an actuated windshield, open bow and aft cockpits, seating, dining areas and increased storage.
“The 38V introduces a completely new silhouette for MJM, but it is built around everything owners value about the brand: a smooth ride, fuel-efficient performance and confidence at the helm,” said Natascia Hatch, MJM Yachts president and CEO.
“It gives boaters more seating, more storage and a highly social layout without giving up the engineering that makes an MJM an MJM.”
Real-world usability
A cuddy with a berth, sink and head is tucked into the port helm console, extending use to overnight and weekend trips. The cabin was developed with Verge Yacht Design and includes upgraded wood trim, refined detailing and premium materials.
The MJM 38V is offered with twin 300hp Mercury Verado outboards as standard or optional 425hp Mercury Verados. Both packages include Mercury steering and control technology, including joystick control, while the more powerful option gives 50mph-plus performance.
“What excites us most about the 38V is the balance between performance and real-world usability,” said Joe Cacopardo, MJM Yachts vice president marketing.
“It is fast, responsive and efficient, but it is also comfortable for a full day aboard and thoughtfully designed around how families and friends actually spend time on the water.”
Additional V Series models are in development, including a 47ft model.
