A new Australian boat show has been launched, to take place across two waterfront venues in Sydney’s Darling Harbour in 2027.
The Australian International Boat Show will be organised by events, exhibition and publishing group Informa which sees the Australian boat show market as a growth area and has secured dates for the next five years.
The new event will feature indoor and outdoor exhibition space together with an on-water display area for larger vessels.
Informa already owns and operates several internationally recognised boat shows including the Monaco Yacht Show, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show and Palm Beach International Boat Show.
Marine industry stakeholders
The company’s entry into the Australian market follows a feasibility study which included consulting with a range of marine industry stakeholders and the development of a five-year business plan.
“Our intention is to combine Informa’s international experience, global resources and marine event knowledge with strong local expertise and industry partnerships to deliver a world-class boating and lifestyle event for Sydney,” said Informa Australia managing director, Spiro Anemogiannis.
“We see a genuine opportunity to create an event that not only serves the boating public and supports exhibitors but also contributes to the long-term growth and sustainability of Australia’s recreational marine industry.”
The new Australian International Boat Show will open on 29 July 2027.
