The French Electric Boat Association (AFBE) has elected Michel Nave as its new president, with Alexandre Seux elected vice-president in charge of recreational boating.
Nave succeeds Yannick Wileveau, who will remain on the board of directors.
Wileveau will now be responsible for managing relationships with the association’s partners.
In a statement AFBE said during his tenure, Wileveau has worked with commitment and determination to develop and promote the organisation.
“His efforts significantly increased the association’s visibility and solidified its position as a leading player in the field of electric propulsion and sustainable navigation solutions,” said AFBE.
Electrification of the marine industry
Nave is head of E-NAV Systems and has more than seven years of experience integrating electric propulsion systems.
Nave’s appointment comes at a time when electrification of all uses is a growing issue in the marine industry.
“The maritime sector is responsible for as many GHG emissions as the aviation sector (3% each worldwide) and its electrification/hybridisation constitutes an essential lever to meet the rise in regulatory and climate requirements,” he said.
Seux is co-founder of TEMO and has 15 years of experience in the nautical industry including working within the Grand Large Yachting group.
The AFBE board now consists of Michel Nave, Alexandre Seux (VP recreational boating), Gildas Olivier (VP professional uses), Antoine Herteman (VP), Xavier de Montgros (treasurer) and Philippe Chadeyron (secretary general).
