Derecktor Shipyards has partnered with Teakdecking Systems (TDS), manufacturer of teak and composite decking.
The partnership will bring TDS into the shipyard as an in-house partner, with the company located within the Dania yard.
The partnership is intended to enable to Derecktor to strengthen its ability to execute complex refit and repair scopes with better coordination, more reliable timelines and greater pricing confidence customers.
Upcoming projects
The companies say that by working more closely together, both teams will align earlier in the project lifecycle, covering planning, estimating and scheduling before work begins.
And they say clients can expect cleaner communication between yard and specialty contractor, more accurate forecasting and faster decision-making from estimate through delivery.
The partnership is effective immediately, with Teakdecking Systems operating on-site at Derecktor’s facility and integrated planning already underway across upcoming projects.
Derecktor Shipyards operates from four locations along the east coast of the US, specialising in yacht refit, repair, maintenance and new vessel construction.
