Working with Lateral Naval Architects, Foster + Partners has designed what the practice describes as ‘a sweet spot in the megayacht market’.
“The Outlier I yacht is an 88-metre megayacht with features that are typically found on a 100-metre plus gigayacht,” explained Marilu Sicoli, senior partner, Foster + Partners.
“Notably, it offers approximately 40% more deck space than standard yachts in its category, making it a standout in its class.”
The Outlier I 200 GT megayacht integrates key components such as a swimming pool, helipad and a private top deck, with key innovations including the relocation of the engine room towards the bow allowing the vessel’s internal architecture to be reinvented in design terms.

“The design concept also allows for greater interior flexibility, enabling double or triple-height spaces and extremely generous living areas that are naturally lit,” explained Adam Newburn, senior partner, Foster + Partners.
“We are pushing the boundaries of yacht design, reimagining guest spaces and adjacencies to offer a completely new way of living on the water.”
By positioning the engine room towards the bow, Foster + Partners points out valuable space in the middle and aft sections of the yacht that is traditionally occupied by machinery is freed up.
This enables new spatial arrangements throughout the rest of the yacht.
Spacial connectivity
The new concept enables better spatial connectivity – both vertically and horizontally – enhancing interactions between guests and crew and reimagining their accommodation for greater comfort and privacy, explained Adam.
The spacial connectivity has been used by Foster + Partners to create a triple-height central volume united by a stainless-steel staircase and cascade of glass that reaches down to the water-level.
The yacht also features a dedicated tank deck service spine through the full length of the vessel and a tender bay suitable for a wide range of tenders.
The concept also allows for owner-driven customisation and supports a wide range of uses.
