Tecnomarine Yachts has relaunched under the leadership of Massimiliano Zilioli, owner of Terranova Yachts, and unveiled a five-model lineup.
The yard, based in Viareggio, was founded in 1972 by Moreno Maestrelli and the Picchiotti family of yacht builders, with the technical collaboration of yacht designer Paolo Caliariand.
The shipyard launched more than 300 hulls, with models including its C series of Cobra open boats and the T series which included models up to the 36 metre T-118 flagship.
The yard was sold to the Azimut-Benetti group in the early 2000s, effectively putting an end to the brand, however operations have been revived at the Navicelli Canal facility with Zilioli’s acquisition.
Production model
Facilities incorporate 3,500 square metres of covered production space and 3,000 square metres of outdoor areas dedicated to the construction of custom yachts, with a production model designed entirely around the requirements of each individual owner.
The relaunch is intended to preserve Tecnomarine’s historic know-how and apply it to today’s construction standards, while strengthening production capabilities in Tuscany.
“The relaunch of Tecnomarine Yachts represents an industrial challenge built on solid foundations: the shipyard’s heritage and the excellence of Made in Italy,” explained Zilioli.
“Restarting from a strategic district such as Pisa Navicelli allows us to combine traditional craftsmanship with the latest construction technologies.”
Five models announced
The yard’s strategy is to solely build displacement and semi-displacement aluminium yachts ranging from 25 to 50 metres, with five models announced, the TM33, TM40, TM41, TM45, and the TM90.
The TM33 and the TM40 are the first models to be unveiled, both developed in close collaboration with Michele Dragoni and her studio Dragoni Designlab, and set to launch at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2026.
“Our objective is not simply to bring a historic brand back to the water, but to position it among the leaders in aluminum yacht construction by offering yachts that deliver safety, efficiency and a disciplined design language,” added Zilioli.
