New restyled genoa cars from Barton Marine

Barton Marine is to launch a restyled range of genoa cars for 2025.

The new cars build on several years of research and development with the aim of providing durability and functionality with contemporary style.

The new products are manufactured using strong light-weight aluminium for both pin or towable versions, and are anodised in either black or spectro silver colours.

This is combined with corrosion resistant nylon inserts for low friction and smooth running.

Two sizes are available – 25mm and 32mm GT options to fit existing track layouts.

A heavy duty (HD) 32mm option is available for larger craft and higher load capabilities.

Inserts are available to allow the new cars to be used with any size of track for retrofitting.

Design

The pin down versions feature simple-to-grip plungers for easier operation while maintaining a design aimed at resisting line snags or catches.

The 25mm cars are suitable for yachts ranging from 7-10m (23-33ft) with a maximum break load of 2280kg (5016lbs) and for use with line diameters of up to 16mm (5/8in), while weighing 247g (8.7oz) and 297g (10.5oz).

The towable track end with becket takes lines up to 8mm (5/16in) and weighs 121g (4.3oz).

The 32mm cars suit yachts from 9-15m (30-49ft) with a maximum break load of 3280kg (7216lbs) for the GT versions and 5970kg (13134lbs) for the HD versions.

They also take lines up to 16mm (5/16”) and have the capability of taking two lines simultaneously.

They weigh between 561g (19.8oz) and 820g (28.9oz).
