Tom Ervin is to transition from his role as president of Michigan dealership Walstrom Marine, a position he has held since 2016.
He will stay actively involved with the company as a strategic advisor, supporting its continued growth.
Tom’s marine industry career has spanned more than 20 years and has included managing national marine organisations.
Since taking the helm of Walstrom Marine in 2016, he has expanded its brand portfolio, services, and geographic reach across Michigan.
He has led several acquisitions, including Traverse Bay Marine and Grand Bay Marine in Traverse City, as well as Algonac Harbour Club on Lake St. Claire.
“Tom has made such a large impact on our family’s busines,” said Ward Walstrom Jr., second-generation owner of Walstrom Marine.
Tremendous opportunities lie ahead for Walstrom Marine.

“He helped transform Walstrom Marine while keeping intact our values and culture of putting our customers first.
“I will remember Tom most for his servant leadership. If he’s not grilling hamburgers at an employee luncheon, then he’s out delivering a customer’s boat.”
Mike Cazer, CEO of Continuum Ventures, an investor in Walstrom Marine, added: “Tremendous opportunities lie ahead for Walstrom Marine. We envision growing our dealership and marina footprint within Michigan and the Great Lakes, organically and via acquisition.”
Walstrom Marine was founded in 1946 by Ward Walstrom Sr. and Paul Griffeth when they acquired Melching Garage and Boat Works in Harbor Springs.
Since then, Walstrom Marine has grown into a leading marine group in Michigan, offering sales, service, storage, and marina facilities across nine locations throughout the state.
Tom will remain in his role until a successor is appointed.
