Australia’s Rivergate Marina & Shipyard has appointed Captain Stephen Bay its new director of international business, bringing with him more than 27 years of maritime expertise and a lifelong passion for the industry.
Steve’s marine industry career began at the age of 18 when he worked as a dive guide in Fiji, gaining experience as a divemaster, commercial fishing crew member and eventually, a luxury motor yacht captain.
For the past 15 years, he has captained both charter and private sailing motor yachts across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Southeast Asian and US coasts.
His experience also includes managing yacht operations, overseeing refits and working on new yacht construction projects in Germany.
“The freedom and adventure of life at sea, as well as the high level of responsibility that comes with being a captain, have kept me passionate for the yachting industry,” said Steve.
I’m excited to give back to an industry and community that have given me so much.
