Change of leadership for Berthon International

Tim Carbury has been appointed managing director for Berthon International with immediate effect.

He takes over from Sue Grant who has led the business for 35 years and is now retiring.

Tim has been a yacht broker for around ten years, with previous positions at Fraser Yachts and Moravia Yachting representing both buyers and sellers across the motor and sailing yacht segments.

He joined Berthon International in January 2026 as head of sales, Berthon International ES and will now head the continued development of the Berthon International business.

“For me, yachting is not simply a profession, it’s a lifelong vocation: shaped by experience, driven by passion and defined by trust,” he said.

“The Berthon brand is strong and I am joining a professional and able team, all of whom are passionate about yachts and the business.

“I look forward to working with them to take the business forward.”

Growing business

Sue Grant added: “Berthon International has grown from a two-broker, 20-yacht-sales-a-year business 35 years’ ago to the business it is today, none of which would have been possible without the commitment and work of the great Berthon team.

“Tim will do a great job in further developing the group.”

Berthon International is headquartered in Lymington, UK, and has sales offices in Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Henån, Sweden and Newport, Rhode Island, as well as a service company in Spain.

The business employs 30 brokers and support staff and also sells new Solaris Sail, Solaris Power, Pegasus, Rustler and Moody yachts.
