Peninsula Yachting has acquired a majority stake in global yacht brokerage and management group IYC.
The investment is aimed at accelerating IYC’s geographic expansion in the luxury yachting industry and adjacent offerings.
Peninsula Yachting is a newly created investment vehicle by Peninsula Capital and brings significant capital and resources alongside global business networks.
The partnership will enable IYC to pursue more ambitious organic and external growth opportunities, extend its fleet and brokerage capabilities, and bring its services and new offering to new geographies and client segments.
IYC, which has offices across Europe and the Americas says it current shareholders remain fully committed to the company’s leadership team and strategic direction. The management structure and IYC’s culture will remain unchanged.
Next and greatest chapter
“This is a defining moment for IYC, not just a financial milestone, but a strategic one,” said Stefanos Makrymichalos, chairman of IYC.
“Together with our existing shareholders and with the talent across this organisation, we are stepping into the next and greatest chapter with renewed energy and enthusiasm.”
Michel Chryssicopoulos, global managing partner of IYC, said the organisation had built trust from owners, clients, and partners.
And he said the investment is ‘a vote of confidence in what IYC stands for and in the teams that deliver it every day’.
IYC provides a services across yacht sales, charter, charter management, yacht management, and new construction.
The company has more than 200 professionals across 15 offices worldwide.
Peninsula is a private equity fund manager founded in 2015 and has invested over €1.5 billion through five investment vehicles, with total capital raised of €3 billion.
