Optima Yachts is to launch a new e14 model at Southampton International Boat Show.
The model follows on from Optima Yachts’ e10, the prototype of which will also be on display at the show.
The Optima e14 measures 14m (46ft) in length with a beam of 4.5m (14.9ft) and is powered by a 100kW electric drive system, with a range of up to 150 nautical miles on one charge.
Open, T-top and Enclosed versions will be available.
Features of the e14 include a galley with induction hobs and electric ovens/microwaves, an entertainment area for up to ten guests, together with fridges, freezers, and icemakers, all powered by high-voltage batteries or solar energy.
“As we developed the e10 to refine our technology and demonstrate what was possible, our vision always included larger vessels,” explained David Kendall, Optima Yachts founder and CEO.
“The e10 remains a perfect option for those seeking a more compact yacht, the e14 truly pushes the boundaries of what an electric yacht can offer in terms of both performance and comfort.
“Designed to be modular and adaptable, the e14 caters to individual preferences with options like open, T-top, and enclosed versions, making it a versatile choice for any discerning owner.”
The yacht has a lightweight FRP construction and integrates natural reinforcements like flax fibres and bio-resins, along with selective carbon fibre use for durability and reduced environmental impact.
The e14 supports fast DC-charging and is compatible with existing marina infrastructure, including 16A and 32A systems. Solar panels are also integrated.
The yacht has a top speed of 15 knots and a displacement of 10 tonnes.
