Premier Marinas receives sustainable recognition

0

Marina operator Premier Marinas has been awarded the Silver EcoVadis recognition for its commitment to sustainable business practice.

This achievement builds on the Bronze medal achieved in 2022 and places them in the top 25% of companies assessed by the sustainability assessment platform EcoVadis.

The marina operator has been installing facilities to reduce and prevent water and air pollution at its sites including pump-out facilities.

The latest pump-out facility will be at Gosport Marina.

Premier Marinas is also investing in marine specific FiltaBund wash bays in its boatyards. The technology will collect run-off water from jet washing and remove marine debris, paint flakes and pigments as well as copper and zinc pollutants. The water is then recycled to use for further jet washing.

Promoting renewable energy is another of Premier’s sustainability objectives with solar PV panes being installed across feasible facility buildings. T

Premier’s Universal Marina has recently completed the installation of 193 solar PV panels, with the potential to harness 74.3kW power from the sun, taking Premier’s total solar capacity across all sites to 522kW.

“We recognise the importance of environmental responsibility and strive to implement measures that protect and preserve our precious waterside ecosystems,” said Pete Bradshaw, Premier Marinas CEO. “This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and demonstrates our continued commitment to sustainability.”
