New operations director for Yacht Havens Group

Yacht Havens Group has promoted Rupert Wagstaff to the newly created role of operations director and appointed him to its board of directors.

Rupert has been a key part of Yacht Havens Group for more than two decades, having joined the business in 2004 and the promotion recognises his contribution to the business and the marina industry.

During his time with Yacht Havens, Rupert has contributed to a wide range of projects across the Group, building strong relationships with colleagues, customers and industry partners along the way.

Among his many achievements, he played a significant role in the development of Yacht Haven Quay Plymouth, the UK’s first purpose-built dry stack marina.

Rupert has served as marina director at Lymington Yacht Haven since 2013, where he has overseen sustained growth in both occupancy and revenue.

Operational efficiencies

Alongside his responsibilities within Yacht Havens Group, Rupert serves on the council of The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), is chair of the Lymington Harbour Advisory Board, and is the Group’s health and safety director.

He will take up his new role early 2027, working closely with marina teams across the Group to drive operational efficiencies, share best practice, enhance customer experience, and drive long-term performance.

“I am delighted to be joining the board and taking on this role within Yacht Havens Group,” said Rupert.

“At Lymington Yacht Haven I’ve been fortunate to work alongside an exceptional team and get to know so many customers, berth holders and industry colleagues over the years.

“I’ve been lucky enough to see first-hand the passion, expertise and commitment that exists throughout the business.”

Continued growth

He continued: “As operations director, I look forward to working closely with our marina managers and haven teams to build on those strengths, support continued growth.”

Dylan Kalis, managing director of Yacht Havens Group, added: “Rupert’s appointment reflects both his outstanding contribution to Yacht Havens over the past two decades and the depth of experience he brings to the business.

“He combines strong operational leadership with strategic insight, but what really stands out is his commitment to people, our local communities and the culture of the business. His success at Lymington Yacht Haven speaks for itself.”

Yacht Havens Group is a family-owned business that owns and operates nine marinas across the UK and Europe.
