MED Group’s new TYKUN shipyard in Italy’s Upper Adriatic region is now fully operational.
The evolution of TYKUN’s brand is leading to larger and more technically complex vessels being produced, requiring an increase in MED Group’s production capacity to support the larger builds, enhance operational safety and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
The development will allow the RIB brand to continue its move towards increasingly sophisticated and high-performance platforms, including professional and operational applications.
The new shipyard will enable TYKUN to manage the entire production process in-house, reducing reliance on external suppliers, providing oversight across all stages of construction.
The new yard will allow for greater integration between design, engineering and production, and is set to enable more efficient management of projects with varying levels of complexity.
World debut
The new flagship model, TYKUN XII, the latest evolution of the range, will make its world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.
“We believed in this company from the moment we acquired it four years ago,” said Marco Galimberti, CEO of MED Group.
“We started with a business focused on the RIB segment up to 12 metres, but as the market evolved and new technological demands emerged, we recognised the need to broaden both our vision and our production capabilities.”
He continued: “MED Group’s new shipyard was created precisely to meet this need: providing the space and infrastructure required to build larger vessels with greater safety and efficiency, enhanced process control, and reduced reliance on subcontracted operations.”
TYKUN’s range incorporates high-performance aluminium chase boats and tenders.
