Whisper Marine has acquired Crownline Boats, American sport, deck, and cruiser boat manufacturer.
With the acquisition, Whisper USA will operate manufacturing facilities in Tennessee, Michigan and Illinois, with Whisper Marine managing both the Crownline Boats brand and Whisper Pontoons, formerly Qwest Pontoons.
Crownline Boats is an American boat manufacturer based in West Frankfort, Illinois, with more than 35 years in the industry and over 90,000 boats delivered to dealers and customers worldwide.
“By integrating the brand into the outdoor ecosystem present within Whisper USA, Crownline adds decades of experience and a strong foundation to a company dedicated to elevating heritage American brands — ones with proven quality, established dealer networks and deep manufacturing expertise, all while supporting American manufacturing,” said a spokesperson from Whisper Marine.
“Crownline has long been recognised as a benchmark for American craftsmanship in the powerboat segment, and that reputation is a core part of what attracted Whisper Marine.”
Performance-orientated
The acquisition is the second major marine deal Whisper Marine has completed in six months — following the December 2025 purchase of Qwest Pontoons.
Before acquiring Crownline, Whisper Marine’s presence was concentrated in the pontoon boating segment, offering a lineup of boats designed for leisure cruising, fishing, and high-end style.
Crownline fills an opening for Whisper Marine with its performance-oriented categories that attract a different buyer profile and will expand Whisper Marine’s market.

Product innovation
Production is set to continue at Crownline’s Southern Illinois facility in West Frankfort, with Whisper Marine planning investment in both product innovation and expanded capacity at the site to increase output.
Following the acquisition, Crownline Boats will be available through Whisper Outdoor, the retail division of Whisper USA, LLC.
