New Bulgarian boating association established

A new Bulgarian boating association has been established and accepted as the 30th member of the European Boating Industry (EBI).

Elica Yard has joined LZ Yachting 1991, Crooze Yachts Bulgaria and Dream Sea Yachting to establish the Bulgarian Association of Boating Industry (BABI).

The companies say the creation of the new industry association was a natural progression, following recent efforts by local companies to introduce their own yacht brands to the international market.

“By driving investment in the yachting sector, advocating for the interests of Bulgaria’s recreational marine industry, and facilitating the exchange of information, best practices, and technical expertise among members and partners, we believe Bulgaria is well on its way to long-term success in this promising market,” said association president Kaloyan Radulov, who is also co-founder and CEO at Elica Yard.

The association’s main objective is to position Bulgaria as a new high-quality yacht-building hub in Europe, working to increase the presence of Bulgarian yacht brands internationally.

Bulgaria is on the verge of leaving a lasting mark in the yachting world.

The association also aims to encourage yachting as a popular leisure activity for Bulgarians.

“Bulgaria is on the verge of leaving a lasting mark in the yachting world,” said Kaloyan. “There’s much work ahead, but by harnessing our ambition, talent, and ingenuity, we can forge a legacy of excellence in yacht building – one that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the industry worldwide.”

Dimitar Panayotov, executive director of LZ Yachting 1991, added: “It is our privilege and also a great responsibility to help establish and grow the Bulgarian Association of Boating Industry, and we will dedicate all the necessary resources, knowledge and connections in doing so.”

The association founders say they believe the new partnership will foster growth for the industry.

Ivelina Topalova, CEO of Dream Sea Yachting, added: “Our vision is to elevate Bulgaria into a hub of innovation and craftsmanship in the global yachting industry.

“By developing local expertise, building world-class boats, and fostering international collaboration, we aim to make Bulgaria a recognised leader in boatbuilding.

“Together, we can turn this dream into reality and create a legacy for future generations.”
