Henri-Lloyd partners with new offshore sailing programme

Technical apparel manufacturer Henri-Lloyd has been named as the official clothing partner of UpWind, a new offshore sailing development programme created by MerConcept.

The programme has been created with the help of founding sponsor 11th Hour Racing to help women access the highest levels of the sport and develop the next generation of offshore talent.

UpWind will provide sailors with access to professional coaching, technical expertise, performance analysis and offshore racing experience.

High-performance offshore sailing

The programme is designed to create a pathway into high-performance offshore sailing while encouraging knowledge sharing, mentorship and long-term athlete development.

It was founded by François Gabart, Vendée Globe winner and the fastest solo sailor to circumnavigate the globe.

As official apparel partner, Henri-Lloyd will provide technical clothing and performance products to UpWind’s sailors and support team.

“The future of offshore sailing will be shaped by those given the chance to reach it,” explained Chris Hammond, CEO at Henri-Lloyd

“UpWind represents the future of offshore sailing and we’re proud to support a programme dedicated to developing the next generation of talent.”
