Catana Group has launched its first inboard YOT model, two years after the launch of the Yot brand.
The new YOT 53 catamaran follows on from the launch of two outboard-powered models, the YOT 36 and Yot 41.
The catamaran has been designed by JNJ Design, in collaboration with the Catana Group design office.
The yacht is equipped with twin 440hp or twin 550hp Yanmar engines, and has cruising speeds of between 15 and 18 knots depending on the configuration, with top speeds of around 23 knots.
The yacht, which can be configured with lithium batteries, will be able to have 48V for higher-consumption appliances.
“The YOT 53 is part of a development strategy for all the group’s boats, always offering alternatives to existing marine industry products, to better meet current needs and even create the needs of tomorrow and, as always, on two hulls,” explained Boris Compagnon, Catana Group sales and marketing director.
Up-and-over door
Features of the new catamaran include an up-and-over aft door to open up the cockpit and increase the lounge or dining area.
The U-shaped galley is found in the forward section of the nacelle, freeing up the area further aft while remaining close and convivial.
The owner’s cabin, at the front of the boat, occupies the entire width of the catamaran, features a king size bed, vanity unit, bathroom, sofa and separate toilet.
There is also a private terrace accessed through the forward door.
The forward cockpit has been designed as a relaxation area, design for all times of the day with comfortable seats and adjustable backrests.
Sunbathing areas
The helm station is fitted with two pilot seats, a forward-facing XL lounge bench seat, a U-shaped dining or cocktail area for eight people, a worktop with grill, fridges/ice maker and storage, and a sunbathing area for six people, all protected by a large hard top which is integrated into the design of the boat.
The topsides have fold-down platforms and retractable sunbathing areas are integrated into the aft steps.
Modular furniture can be turned to face the inside or outside of the boat, and a hydraulic platform creates a balcony at deck level or a swimming area.
The tender is positioned under a telescopic crane extending from the roof and is stowed on the hydraulic platform when the catamaran is on passage.
The YOT 53 can be configured in three or four cabin versions.
