Sunseeker International has confirmed a £40 million investment for new product development, workforce training, and production enhancements. The shipyard also reports an order book totalling £625 million (€730 million).
“We enter the 2023 and 2024 boat show season in a strong position,” said CEO Andrea Frabetti. “We have made significant investment in our facilities and technologies, training programmes and new product development, all of which have contributed to our very strong forward order retail value.”
Improvements have been made to the boatbuilder’s shipyards, with the expansion of its primary shipyard facility in Poole now complete.
The new Shed Y provides additional production capacity at the site and is the designated production facility for its new Ocean156 model. The initial production phase for the series is currently underway.
Sunseeker is also preparing to open a new office in Dubai, UAE, a year after announcing Sunseeker Gulf.
“Our distribution strategy globally is on an upward trajectory which Sunseeker Gulf has played a significant part in realising,” says Andrea.
In September 2022, the boatbuilder revealed it had a forward order book of £600m together with plans to expand its product portfolio to 22.
The Ocean 182 is one of Sunseeker’s latest yachts to be launched.
Since 1969 Sunseeker Yachts has built composite semi-custom yachts from 12m to 47m.
