Henri-Lloyd re-establishes UK retail market

Henri-Lloyd is to re-establish its retail outlets throughout the UK and Ireland.

The technical clothing manufacturer recently announced the appointment of UK sales agency Sailforce and is now building up its retailer support packages.

“We believe that the level of support we are offering is second-to-none within the UK marine sector,” said Henri-Lloyd CEO Graham Allen. “With many years of experience, and having our own dedicated stores, we understand how much support is needed to create interest and footfall, as well as helping boost local visibility online.”

The move follows an announcement from Henri-Lloyd in 2020, stating it was cutting out third-party distributors and retailers with a new direct to consumer business model.

Customers could only buy the company’s products through the brand’s own distribution channels, in a move that was designed to be able to offer premium products at attractive prices.

Henri-Lloyd returned to the wholesale market in 2023 with a new yachting and boating range for 2024.

The new range has been designed as deliberately compact with a focus on the brand’s core strengths and products, whilst still offering garments suitable for key areas.

“One key aim is to help retailers by providing a compact and consistent range that lasts for many seasons, so they don’t have to invest in stock which then becomes quickly redundant,” added Graham.

Sailforce is running a series of regional trade shows to show all its brands, enabling locally based retailers to learn more about all the new products available for the season.

These take place on April 9, Royal Southern Yacht Club, Southampton; April 11, Boringdon Park Golf Club, Plymouth; April 16, Royal Harwich Yacht Club, Ipswich and April 18, Gleddoch House Hotel, Glasgow.
