Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has entered into an exclusive dealership agreement with the Finnish company Randox.
The companies say the partnership matches the growing demand for electric propulsion systems for vessels and supply permanent magnet (PM) motors to the shipbuilding industry in the Netherlands region (Benelux).
“Electrification is a major trend in the shipbuilding sector with traditional propulsion increasingly being replaced by electric technologies,” said a spokesperson from Piet Brouwer.
Partnership
“The latter’s compact size has major benefits for installation space while the increased efficiency at partial loads and flexibility in terms of fuel choice make electric propulsion an attractive option which Piet Brouwer Electrotechnologyand Randax clients are choosing more frequently.
“Common DC-bus systems combined with batteries and permanent magnet motors provide a technically advanced, flexible solution with the best specifications in terms of space, weight and efficiency.”
The spokesperson added: “Randax’s advanced PM motors are an excellent choice for drives above 200kW where high demands are placed on space, weight and efficiency.”
The partnership will enable clients to make the most of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology’s advice and support with configuring the propulsion line before having the custom design made by Randax.
The ultimate aim of the partnership between Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology and Randax is to combine the knowledge and expertise from both fields.
