Ramon Surrey has been appointed as national marine manager for Yamaha Motor New Zealand.
Surrey joins Yamaha Motor having spent nearly nine years at Hella Marine overseeing sales across parts of Asia, the Middle East and New Zealand.
His understanding of the marine industry and relationships with dealers and boat builders are expected to support Yamaha New Zealand’s continued growth.
Alan Petrie, general manager of Yamaha Motor New Zealand, explained that Surrey’s appointment reflects both his capability and the company’s long-term strategy.

“Ramon’s experience in the marine sector is invaluable for the brand,” he said.
“Yamaha has long been a market leader in New Zealand’s marine industry and with Ramon stepping into this role, we are well positioned to continue that momentum, strengthen our dealer network and deliver industry-leading products and service to Kiwi customers.”
Surrey added: “I’m excited to be focussing on the Yamaha Marine business and looking forward to reconnecting with the Yamaha marine dealer network and, of course, the boat builders — many of whom I already know very well.”
