Performance Marine Group (PMG) has officially opened its new boatbuilding facility in Australia to manufacture ILCA Olympic-class dinghies.
The new 23,000sqft boatbuilding facility is located Morisset, New South Wales, and currently has more than 50 ILCA boats in production at the site.
The company says it is seeing increased demand for the Olympic-class vessels, both locally and internationally.
The facility is equipped with the latest technologies, including advanced carbon fibre manufacturing processes, which are also enabling the team to develop a new high-performance boat range due to be launched later in 2025.
“This facility represents a new era for Performance Marine Group,” said chairman of Performance Marine Group, Nick Ogden.
“We’re proud to be supporting Australian manufacturing, creating local jobs, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in small watercraft innovation.”

He added: “The new Performance Marine Group boatbuilding factory will not only provide a dedicated facility in response to rising orders, creating the need for heightened production and quicker delivery of our Olympic-standard ILCA’s for athletes in the region and across the world, but will also provide several careers and opportunities for the local community.”
The Morisset facility has already created six new jobs, with additional positions to be created as production increases.
The new facility follows on from the acquisition of ILCA builder Performance Sailcraft in Australia by Performance Sailcraft Europe, a division of Performance Marine Group, in 2024.
Performance Marine Group has two divisions – Performance Sailcraft and Performance Powercraft – PMG crafts vessels for Olympic-class sailing and Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) powerboating.
PMG also has an international sports development program Performance Marine Team.
2025 marks 55 years of continuous ILCA/Laser production.
