VisionF Yachts launches first fully-electric catamaran

VisionF Yachts has launched its first fully-electric catamaran.

The 24-metre E-Cat 80 is the first unit in a series from the Turkish shipyard designed to represent a new generation of clean and efficient yachting.

Manufactured in carbon fibre, the catamaran is designed by Marco Casali of TOO Design with naval architecture by MICAD’s MD Amedeo Migali.

The VisionF E-Cat 80 is powered by two Danfoss electric motors, each with 180kW continuous, 340kW peak power providing a top speed of up to 16 knots.

The catamaran also has a bow thruster and stern thruster for additional control.

Self-sustaining energy system

The 54 onboard solar panels continuously charge the vessel’s batteries, generating up to 21.6kW per hour, designed to create an entirely self-sustaining energy system for extended voyages without depending on external power sources.

Twin 150kW generators also provide backup energy for emergency situations and a boost to the yacht’s efficiency during high-speed cruising.

The VisionF E-Cat 80 has a 10.92-metre beam and length of 23.97 metres providing space for up to 12 guests.

Flexible, semi-custom layout options are available with crew quarters for four and a dedicated crew mess.

Other features of the catamaran include a customisable garage which can be equipped with a range of water.

Through introducing this latest electric model, VisionF Yachts says it is continuing its trajectory of pushing the boundaries of modern catamaran design.

Delivery of the first unit to her owner is expected soon, with further units in the series anticipated.
