New Plastimo MD appointed

Christophe de Robien has taken over as MD of Plastimo, a subsidiary of the Alliance Marine Group.

He takes over the role from Yann Cornec who will now take on the role of director of strategy and development for Alliance Marine’s brands Plastimo, Ocean Safety and Typhoon.

This transition is part of Alliance Marine Group’s drive to strengthen its leadership in specialist markets and enhance its product ranges with innovation.

Alongside him, Frédéric Blaudeau, former marketing and communications director at Plastimo will play a key role in defining and implementing the strategies of the Group’s proprietary brands.

Yann joined Plastimo in 2013 and has played a key role in the development of the Lorient-based company including overseeing the launch of the SLR 196 in 2022.

I remain fully committed to developing the brands that are the pride of Alliance Marine.

Since 2021, he has also been head of Alliance Marine’s safety division while also managing Plastimo.

“The last 11 years at Plastimo have been full of challenges and achievements,” said Yann. “I’m proud of how far we’ve come with passionate and talented teams.

“Although I am stepping down from operational management, I remain fully committed to developing the brands that are the pride of Alliance Marine, and Plastimo will continue to hold a very special place in my heart.”

Yann added: “Representing iconic brands such as Plastimo, Ocean Safety and Typhoon is an honour and an exciting challenge. With the launch of Typhoon’s new identity and strategic repositioning, we’ve already built up a promising momentum this year.

Strategic projects

“The projects to come are just as exciting, and I’m proud to be able to rely on our passionate and talented teams to bring them to fruition.”

Christophe de Robien spent the first part of his career in consulting, notably with Eight Advisory and AlixPartners.

“It is an honour to take the helm of Plastimo, a company whose history and innovation resonate with the marine industry,” said Christophe.

“I’m excited about the challenges ahead, supported by expert and motivated teams. Together, we will continue to write Plastimo’s history with passion and ambition.”
