Sunseeker appoints Daren Morris as CFO

Sunseeker has appointed Daren Morris as chief financial officer, succeeding Dean Lawler as the yacht builder prepares for its next phase of development.

Morris joins with more than three decades of experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions and international financial leadership.

He previously served as a managing director at UBS and Morgan Stanley and subsequently held board positions as CFO at Volex plc and Big Technologies plc.

His background includes business transformation and operational improvement, as well as financial leadership during periods of change.

Sunseeker says the appointment would add financial and commercial expertise as it pursues investment opportunities and its ambitions for the next five years.

Clear long-term direction

Scott Millar, Sunseeker chief executive, said the company had moved beyond a period of uncertainty and now benefited from committed ownership, significant investment and a clear long-term direction.

“As we focus on the next phase of our growth, strong financial leadership will be fundamental to our success, not only safeguarding the financial strength of the business but enabling us to invest boldly and pursue the opportunities ahead,” he said.

“Daren is exceptionally well placed to help us realise that ambition.”

And Millar thanked Lawler for his years of dedication and contribution to the company saying he had supported the business through change and transformation while helping to strengthen its financial foundations and strategic direction.

Morris  added: “I am delighted to be joining the business at such an important stage in its journey and look forward to working with colleagues across the organisation as we continue to build on the company’s strengths and shape its next chapter.”
