Azimut has appointed The Nautical Group as its exclusive dealer in New Zealand and Performance Boats as its official dealer in Mexico, extending its sales and after-sales network in the two yachting markets.
The Nautical Group will operate Azimut Yachts New Zealand from Mount Maunganui, providing yacht sales, delivery support, maintenance and technical assistance. The company plans to establish an Azimut showroom, an engineering division and a dedicated aftercare team.
New Zealand customers will also be offered six months of monthly yacht inspections after delivery, covering key onboard systems and maintenance planning.
The Nautical Group is led by managing director James Dalzell, who has more than 15 years’ experience as a yacht captain and manager, including work aboard Azimut Grande models.
Full motor yachts range
“New Zealand is a highly strategic market for Azimut, where a deeply rooted nautical culture offers significant growth opportunities,” said Enrico Chiaussa, Azimut’s chief commercial officer for EMEA and APAC.
In Mexico, Performance Boats will represent Azimut’s full motor yacht range, including the Seadeck, Fly and Magellano series. The appointment renews a relationship dating to 1994, when Performance Boats delivered Azimut’s first yacht in the country.
The dealer’s network covers the Mexican Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and Pacific coast, including the Sea of Cortez. Planned investment includes a new marina in Cancún, a sales point in Puerto Cancún, and sales and service facilities in Veracruz and La Paz, Baja California Sur. Financial details and delivery dates for the developments were not disclosed.
Performance Boats was founded in 1991 and operates marinas, dry-storage facilities, sales offices and service centres.
“This is more than the beginning of a new chapter – it is a reunion of two strong brands with a shared vision for the future,” said Federico Ferrante, president of Azimut Benetti Americas.
Performance Boats’ Javier Aboumrad said the company planned to support owners through a broader national organisation and expanded local coverage.
