D-Marin has agreed to acquire Porto San Rocco Marina Resort in Muggia, near Trieste, expanding its Northern Adriatic network and taking its Italian portfolio from one marina in 2023 to nine.
Completion remains subject to regulatory approval.
The marina has 546 berths for yachts from 8 to 60 metres. Its position in the Gulf of Trieste, close to Slovenia and Croatia, provides access to cruising routes serving all three countries and complements D-Marin’s existing locations in Italy and Croatia.
Porto San Rocco combines marina infrastructure with a hotel, restaurants, bars, shops, a swimming pool, fitness and wellness facilities, a fuel station and a conference room. Road, rail, air and sea connections serve owners, captains and crews using the site as an Adriatic base.
“Porto San Rocco sits at the gateway between Italy and the wider Adriatic, with the scale to welcome yachts up to 60 metres,” said Oliver Dörschuck, chief executive of D-Marin. “It fits naturally with our marinas in Italy and Croatia.”
Dörschuck said the group would work with the marina’s existing team and local community while applying its operational and customer-service systems.
The acquisition will add Porto San Rocco to an Italian network spanning the Northern Adriatic, Liguria, Tuscany and Sardinia.
