BWA expands Latin America network

BWA Yachting has launched operations in Mexico and the Galapagos, one month after establishing offices in Panama and Colombia.

The additions take its Latin American network to four locations and extend support across Mexico’s Pacific coast and Ecuador’s regulated island archipelago.

BWA Yachting Mexico is based in La Paz, Baja California Sur, and led by managing partner Capt Herberth Uribe.

Coverage includes La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, Loreto, Ensenada, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, Acapulco and Puerto Madero in Chiapas.

The Mexican operation will handle port formalities, national park permits, fuel, provisioning, logistics, concierge services and technical-project co-ordination.

It will also provide captain-to-captain itinerary planning based on vessel requirements, local conditions and operational constraints.

Clear communication

“As a captain, I understand that arriving in a destination is about much more than completing formalities,” said Uribe.

“It is about having reliable information, clear communication and someone ashore who understands the yacht’s priorities.”

BWA Yachting Galapagos is led by managing partner Johnny Romero and covers Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, Academy Bay, Baltra, Puerto Villamil and protected areas across the archipelago, with further support in Manta and Guayaquil.

The Galapagos team will manage permits, approved itineraries, provisioning, fuel, logistics and technical requirements. It can also arrange diving, land programmes and other activities for owners, guests and crew.

“Every yacht must comply with National Park regulations and follow an approved itinerary, making experienced support on the ground essential,” said Romero.

BWA said its regional model combines locally led operations with continuity for yachts moving between destinations. The Mexico and Galapagos offices join Panama City and Cartagena, which opened in September 2026.

“Mexico, Panama, Colombia and the Galapagos each require very different local knowledge, relationships and experience,” said Nikolaos Patsiokas, chief operating officer of BWA Yachting.
