The Dragonfly 33 has been introduced as the next generation of Quorning Boats’ performance cruising trimaran range.
The new model builds on the Dragonfly 32 with a revised design, updated construction methods and a broader focus on cruising, offshore passages and weekend racing.
The model, built in Denmark, combines a wave-piercing main hull and float design with a fixed bowsprit and the company’s established Swing Wing folding system.
The system allows the boat to reduce its beam from 8.1 metres to 3.7 metres in minutes without tools, supporting marina berthing, transport and storage.
The Dragonfly 33 is designed around a dual-zone cockpit with twin wheels, an open stern and sail controls led back to the helm, an arrangement intended to improve visibility, movement through the cockpit and control from either side, while maintaining access to the water for swimming and watersports.
Additional usable space
Construction uses hand-laid vinylester with Divinycell closed-cell foam core for all three hulls, with white gelcoat finish.
The cabin deck is built using hand-laid fibreglass and Divinycell foam-core sandwich construction, while selected composite parts, including forward main bulkheads, use infusion and more complex tooling to optimise weight, strength, durability and production efficiency.
On deck, two integrated trampolines provide additional usable space when the boat is unfolded, while each float includes storage for extra sails, an inflatable dinghy, outboard engine and associated equipment.
The kick-up rudder and centreboard system allows the trimaran to dry out or be beached, while helping reduce the risk of impact damage when sailing.
Below deck, the Dragonfly 33 has a bright interior with a compact layout intended to provide accommodation for family cruising and longer trips.
The saloon and galley are arranged as functional living spaces, with options including a fridge, two-burner stove and oven. The forward cabin has a 2.1-metre V-berth, while a private aft cabin and additional saloon berth add sleeping flexibility.
Interior finishes include light ash as standard, with elm available as an option.
