Pogo Structures is expanding its sailboat range with the new POGO 33, a 10.26-metre cruiser based on the racing hull of the Pogo RC and designed for both fast cruising and IRC competition.
The French boatbuilder says the model will be offered in fixed-keel and lifting-keel versions, giving owners the choice between a more race-focused configuration and a layout better suited to shallow anchorages and wider cruising grounds.
The fixed-keel version has a 1.95-metre draught and is expected to rate better under IRC, while the lifting-keel version follows Pogo’s tradition of versatile cruising yachts.
The hull was developed by naval architects Bernard Nivelt and Sam Manuard and uses a modern semi-scow form derived from offshore racing classes including Mini, Class 40 and IMOCA.
Speed and seaworthiness
Pogo says the aim is to carry the Pogo RC’s speed and seaworthiness into a boat that can be used for family cruising, offshore races and local weekend IRC events.
“With the POGO 33, we wanted to give sailors the pleasure of a genuinely high-performance boat — one that can hold its own in a race without compromising on comfort or safety. It’s the return of a true racer-cruiser,” said Tanguy Bouroullec, co-director of the company.
The main change from the Pogo RC is an entirely new deck, which creates more accommodation and turns the platform into a genuine cruiser.
The layout includes a double cabin forward, a double cabin aft, additional saloon berths, an enclosed heads, a galley with sink and oven, a chart table, lockers and a technical locker.
Liveable interior
“We started from a racing hull to design, around an entirely new deck, a bright and liveable interior,” said Paul Bouroullec, co-director.
“The goal was to offer real cruising volume, on a genuinely high-performance platform.” A carbon mast will be available as an option, with an aluminium mast fitted as standard.
The POGO 33 is currently in the design phase at Pogo Structures’ in-house design office in Combrit, working with Manuard and Nivelt.
The first unit is scheduled to launch in early summer 2027.
