MIRAVA has raised $5m in angel funding to support further product development, small-batch production and customer deliveries for its first intelligent recreational boat.
The marine technology company has spent three years developing its platform, which combines intelligent navigation, modular design, software-based functions and a choice of electric or petrol propulsion.
It is intended to support a range of activities including cruising, family leisure, watersports, fishing and socialising, rather than being designed around one use.
One key feature is the modular stern with the aft section able to be reconfigured to provide additional space for different activities, while a detachable section can operate independently as a small watercraft or tender.
High-end mobility design
The exterior was developed with designers Arman Fissette and Emanuele Bomboi, drawing on their experience in yacht, automotive and high-end mobility design.
The navigation system includes autonomous docking, departure and arrival, dynamic positioning and an intelligent following function.
A smart band allows users to interact with the boat and can enable the vessel to follow them during activities such as swimming, paddleboarding or diving.
MIRAVA points out that the underlying technology has accumulated more than 50,000 nautical miles of operational data and has been installed on more than 1,500 boats.
Engineering and technology
Both propulsion versions use the same core platform, measuring about 7.9 metres long and 2.44 metres wide, with capacity for up to eight people.
The fully electric model has a 100kWh battery, maximum output of 150hp and a top speed of 20 knots. A petrol version offers up to 250hp, a 30-knot top speed and a 380-litre fuel tank.
The funding will be used for continued engineering and technology work, initial production and deliveries. MIRAVA also plans to refine the platform through feedback from customers using the boats in real-world conditions.
MIRAVA will present the boat at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 before exhibiting at boot Düsseldorf 2027.
