Aksìa acquires Amare Group to expand MHI marine platform

Aksìa SGR, through Aksìa Capital VI, has acquired 100% of Amare Group’s marine components business through MHI Group, its platform for yacht and superyacht equipment.

The transaction is MHI’s first add-on acquisition since Aksìa bought Seasmart in November 2025.

The combination brings together two complementary Italian manufacturers – Seasmart which supplies deck hardware and Amare which produces portlights and glazing systems, gangways, kinematic and hydraulic systems, and wireless automation solutions.

The broader portfolio is intended to strengthen MHI’s position as a multi-product supplier and create cross-selling, product-development and after-sales opportunities.

Amare was founded in 2012 and operates from facilities in Modena and Isernia serving Italian and international shipyards. Its activities cover engineering, manufacturing and assembly, with an emphasis on customised products. The Isernia site has additional capacity to support future expansion.

Refit and service

Amare founder Michele Benvenuto Preziuso is reinvesting in the company and will remain chief executive.

Amare and Seasmart will continue to trade under their existing brands, while using a shared platform for commercial development, innovation and international growth.

MHI also plans to expand its refit and service activities.

Aksìa says the acquisition forms part of a buy-and-build strategy that will combine organic investment with further purchases in complementary product categories. The aim is to establish a leading European group in high-end marine components while retaining the technical expertise, design capabilities and identities of its individual businesses.

“Our goal is to build an industrial platform where complementary expertise, products and commercial relationships can mutually accelerate growth,” said Filippo Anichini, partner at Aksìa.

Next phase

He added that the firm is already assessing further opportunities consistent with the project.

Preziuso added: “We have found in Aksìa and MHI Group the right partners to support Amare Group in the next phase of its journey.”

And he said the partnership would support investment in people, production capacity, innovation and commercial development while preserving Amare’s identity and know-how.

Aksìa is a private equity fund management company that primarily invests in Italian mid-sized companies.
