Tohatsu has appointed Power Equipment Pty as its exclusive distributor for Australia and New Zealand with effect from July 1 2026.
As part of this transition Power Equipment will also exclusively represent Tohatsu throughout Oceania.
“The new partnership with Power Equipment will allow Tohatsu to continue on our planned growth trajectory, leveraging Power Equipment’s industry contacts, technical support capabilities, world- class parts infrastructure and renowned standing in the region’s marine industry,” said Genki Tamura, general manager, overseas operations department.
This collaboration will strengthen Power Equipment’s presence by offering petrol outboard engines for the first time.

“We are incredibly pleased and excited to add Tohatsu to our marine line-up. It gives us the ability to provide a full range of propulsion, on-water power, propellers and stabilization products to our customers.”
The appointment follows on from the announcement that Tohatsu had appointed Tohatsu (Wuxi) Trading Co as its authorized distributor in China.
Tohatsu (Wuxi) Trading has assumed full responsibility for nationwide sales, after‑sales service, parts supply, and dealer support.
With enhanced operational capabilities and a renewed focus on customer satisfaction, Tohatsu aims to deliver a more reliable and responsive service structure across China.
Power Equipment is a family-owned company that has been operating for more than 35 years.
Tohatsu has more than 80 worldwide dealers, representing outboard models from 2.5hp to 250hp.
