Blue Wave NDT has received approval from Lloyd’s Register as a recognised service supplier.
The recognition follows a review of the company’s ultrasonic testing methods and governance and confirms that its ultrasonic inspection procedures meet expected standards for quality, traceability and technical control for marine and defence applications.
The approved services include ultrasonic testing of monolithic and cored composite materials, thickness and corrosion inspections of metallic plates and forged steel, and angle-beam inspections of complex metallic structures.
Achieving Lloyd’s Register recognition is a significant moment for Blue Wave NDT.

“Achieving Lloyd’s Register recognition is a significant moment for Blue Wave NDT, said managing director Giles Waterhouse.
“It provides independent confirmation that our inspection procedures, controls, and governance meet the high standards expected for ultrasonic testing.
“For clients operating in regulated and high-risk environments, confidence in how inspection data is generated is just as important as the data itself.”
Alongside Lloyd’s Register recognition, Blue Wave NDT is certified under the UK government’s Cyber Essentials scheme.
The company is also progressing towards ISO 9001 certification, with DNV GL audits expected in Q2 2026, and plans to expand engagement with additional classification societies while registering on the JOSCAR supplier database.
