Saxdor begins CEO search

Saxdor Yachts has started a search for a new chief executive after reaching a mutual agreement with Erna Rusi to leave the company following five years in the role.

Eric Lindquist, chief growth officer of parent company Malibu Boats, will serve as interim chief executive during the recruitment process. Saxdor has not disclosed a timetable for appointing a permanent successor.

Rusi led the Finnish boatbuilder through a period of rapid expansion, including increased production capacity and development of its international dealer network. During her tenure, Saxdor broadened its model range and established manufacturing operations in Finland and Poland.

Acquisition

The leadership change follows Malibu Boats’ acquisition of Saxdor in March 2026. The US group agreed to acquire the business in a transaction valued at approximately €150 million, or US$175 million.

Saxdor reported revenue of around €180 million in 2025, compared with €109 million in 2024.

“We would like to thank Erna for everything she has contributed to Saxdor over the past five years,” said Lindquist.

“The growth and momentum the company has achieved are a testament to the strength of the team and the vision built together.

He added: “As we look ahead, our priority is to find the right leader to guide Saxdor into its next chapter.

“We are committed to preserving Saxdor’s autonomy and ensuring that it continues to operate and grow as a standalone global brand, with its own distinct identity, ambitions, and close relationships with its partners and customers.

“We are excited about the opportunities ahead and confident in Saxdor’s continued potential.”

Saxdor said it remains focused on product development, international expansion and strengthening its global dealer network.
