Pro-Set announces leadership appointments

Pro-Set Formulated Resin Systems (PFRS) has made several leadership appointments, including the permanent appointment of Pete Hughes as president.

In addition, Tom LaBelle has been promoted to vice president of formulated composite systems, where he will lead Gougeon Brothers and the Americas composite resins strategic business unit.

Randy Brady has been appointed as vice president, formulated coating systems and business director, leading the specialty coatings business unit established following the company’s acquisition of Unichem and Ryan Senciboy has been appointed as chief financial officer.

As president, Hughes leads the platform’s strategy, operations and mergers and acquisitions execution across the portfolio, with full profit and loss responsibility.

He is accountable for driving growth, scaling operations and leading the organisation through its next phase of expansion.

Strategy and operations

Since stepping in as interim president, Hughes has guided the organisation through a transition period while establishing the operational and strategic foundation required for expansion.

His previous leadership roles include those in strategy and operations at Bain & Company and DaVita. Most recently, he served within Iron Path Capital’s full immersion operations team.

“Pete has led this business with clarity and conviction since day one,” said Ted Clark, executive chairman of Pro-Set FRS.

“His ability to assess complex businesses quickly, build the right teams, and execute against a clear value creation thesis is exactly what this platform requires as we continue to grow.

“We are fortunate to have him leading the organisation.”

Strong foundation

Hughes added: “I am honoured to take on this role permanently and proud of the strong foundation this team has built.

“We have an exceptional group of people, differentiated technologies, and a clear path forward.

In his expanded role, LaBelle will lead commercial strategy while driving operational performance, resource alignment and growth execution.

His prior leadership roles have included positions at Sika, Henkel and Lord Corporation, with a background spanning technical sales, product development and business development.

Brady joins Pro-Set to lead the specialty coatings business unit following the recent acquisition of Universal Chemical & Coatings (Unichem).

Commercial growth

Brady brings decades of experience across product development, sales and general management within the specialty coatings sector, including leadership roles at DuPont, PPG, Sherwin-Williams and Deft.

He will oversee the integration and expansion of PFRS’s coatings portfolio, with responsibility for driving innovation, market expansion and commercial growth.

Completing the leadership team, Senciboy began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently held progressive finance leadership roles at Greif, a $6 billion industrial manufacturing company.

He has also served at Clearwater Paper Corporation and most recently served as vice president, treasurer and head of FP&A at US Strategic Metals.

PFRS’s portfolio includes West System, Pro-Set, Entropy Resins, WRA, and Unichem. The company operates manufacturing and commercial facilities in the United States and Europe.
