German shipyard YYachts has appointed Sven Göbel as its new CEO, succeeding Christian Möller, who has stepped down from the role for personal reasons.
Sven graduated from the Technical University of Darmstadt with a focus on mechanical engineering.
He joins YYachts with a background in industrial engineering experience and has held a series of management positions in the commercial and technical areas of various production companies.
His experience includes a stint as a board member at HanseYachts AG.
In his new role, Sven will take charge of finance, production and procurement at YYachts.

Sven has longstanding experience in managing a shipyard in a similar position.

YYachts founder Michael Schmidt will remain closely involved with the business with his focus being on product development and enhancing the overall customer experience, particularly from the owner’s point of view.
Tijl Hetterschijt will continue to lead the sales and marketing division.
“Sven has longstanding experience in managing a shipyard in a similar position and will bring YYachts with his expertise into the next step of development,” said Michael.
The German shipyard is known for its carbon sailing yachts above 24 metres,
YYachts recently partnered with American brokerage Rodgers Yacht Sales in a move to expand the shipyard’s presence in the US.
The company has also recently announced its expansion into Scandinavia and the Baltic region with Magnus Lundgren.
