MarineMax: two promotions to vice president of sales

MarineMax has promoted James Corts and Scott Roberton to the position of vice president of yachts.

The company says the appointments recognise their long-standing leadership, consistent performance, and meaningful contributions to its yacht business.

Since the inception of MarineMax’s Chairman’s Circle programme 14 years ago, both Corts and Roberton have earned Chairman’s Circle honours each year, recognising their performance.

Over the past decade, Roberton has generated more than $424 million in sales, while Corts has achieved more than $362 million.

Corts joined MarineMax in 2002 with a financial background and sales experience; prior to joining MarineMax, he was a licensed investment advisor.

Corts has been recognised as a Top Gun Award recipient five times. He has also been recognised several times as the top Azimut salesperson.

Beyond his sales achievements, Corts has served as a board member of the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA) and is the founder of Harbour Island Outreach, a charitable organisation that supports communities in the Bahamas.

Roberton joined MarineMax in 1992 and has represented a range of brands including Ocean Alexander, Azimut, and Galeon, along with developing partnerships with Fraser and Northrop & Johnson.

Alongside Chairman’s Circle recognition, he has received the Top Gun Award three times.

Roberton has also been recognised by Ocean Alexander as its top-performing global salesperson for seven consecutive years.

Continued growth

“We are proud to recognise James and Scott with these well-deserved promotions,” said Kyle Langbehn, president of retail operations and executive vice president

“Their leadership, expertise and commitment to our clients set a strong standard across the MarineMax Yachts organisation.

“Both have played an important role in our continued growth, and we look forward to their ongoing impact as we expand our presence at the highest levels of the yachting market.”

In their expanded roles, Corts and Roberton will both continue to advance MarineMax’s presence in the global yachting market by driving strategic growth initiatives, strengthening client relationships, and further enhancing the company’s yacht sales and brokerage platform.
