The UK’s David Payne retires after three decades in the marine industry

David Payne, technical sales a business development director at Fischer Panda UK | Power Solutions, is to retire after a career spanning several decades in the marine industry.

He joined Fischer Panda in 2017 as technical sales manager at a time of change for the company as it transitioned from a generator supplier and installer into a provider of complete onboard system solutions.

With a strong engineering background and deep understanding of electrical systems, David was instrumental in the integration of hybrid power, power electronics, and low-emission solutions across commercial marine, vehicle, and specialist applications.

David’s career started as assistant service manager for Wiggins BMW before he moved on to a technical sales role with Lewmar in 1997 where he helped to establish the company’s aftersales and spares support website.

It has been an absolute privilege to have David a part of our team and we wish him all the best in his retirement.

After six years, David moved onto Mastervolt in the role of marine sales manager and in 2010, he founded Electrical Resource Power Management UK (EPRM).

“David’s contribution to the technical sales of Fischer Panda UK cannot be overstated,” said Barry Fower, Fisher Panda UK managing director.

“From his early days expanding our systems-based sales approach through to developing high-end client projects, his deep understanding of hybrid power, generator technology and systems integration has helped strengthen the business’ position as a trusted provider of reliable, high-performance solutions.

“It has been an absolute privilege to have David a part of our team and we wish him all the best in his retirement.”

David added: “Working with such a dedicated team of engineers, I’ve contributed to systems that consistently meet the needs of our customers in the field.

“I’ve also had the opportunity to explore power solutions in a rapidly changing landscape and to participate in the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable electric power, which is truly unique.”
